Does anyone know how to find the mass with just a name? I was taking a practice test and came upon a weird question. What is the mass of these:
and some elements i forgot what they were though.

you would look at a periodic table the atomic mass is listed on the element square

i do not believe you are allowed to have a periodic table in the event
the event isn't supposed to revolve around periodic tables but instead is supposed to revolve around observations and maybe some basic chemistry questions.
also very few people have a periodic table memorized so i wouldn't expect questions about them at a regional or state level test

Did you happen to see this test at the Greenhill Invite?

No I did not however we found a test and made a practice competition with it I think it was a test from a invatational and one of the questions was about atomic mass my coach said that he has never seen one like that it was mostly observations but weird questions like that to but you never know.

No Ive found that if you want it to be you can have tons of fun in it! It is by far one of my favorite events. The prep i guess is relativley easy you just have to practice like all events and make sure you partner has a equal understanding and knows how to use a volotometer and test PH levels.

came back from an invite. they asked about polar and nonpolar compounds... free ions... dissociation or whatever.. and that's the nonbasic stuff.

Ok, so would anyone know how to "test" for these things?

haha, that's what i was going to research on.
but the free ion question was:
Are there free ions in HCl?
