My coach told our team that New York was boycotting water testing, so does anyone know what will be there instead? Will the event just be shorter?

I don't know about New York, but North Carolina is also not doing water testing (something about it being too much of a hassle?), and they're not replacing it with anything. Just a shorter, easier competition, lucky us

Our area is also not doing water testing (somewhere in NY) we're putting those points into powders, chromatography and maybe the essay.

gah!!! i have NO CLUE what water testing is!!! everywhere i look,its either people are wondering what to do about it, or its states saying they wont do it... can some one explain this to me?? the rule sheet is very vague -.-

I studied water testing a little, and it will mainly be testing common cations with their reagents. The difficult part will probably be choosing which reagent to use to test for which cation.

what i got out of the water testing was the ph of the water with the substance in it but other than that i dont know anything else....
