Yes, he has a point as you can reduce error by having crucial points on your charts.

What kind of material would you use to hold and surround the aerogel? I've calculated all the dimensions for it, but I don't know how to hold the granular aerogel in place.

Might I recommend a thin malleable metal cylinder with a small pocket of space sandwiched in between? Also if you can bend plexiglass to your will it would also work. ;)

Returning back to the topic of the prediction score, does your actual device testing match up with the regression equations you're getting? Or do you have to add or subtract from your predicted temperature to compensate for random factors?

For me at least, the final temperature usually ends up around 2-3 degrees below my predicted temperature. While I could easily just subtract this amount from all my predictions, I can't help but wonder if I'm doing something wrong or out of the ordinary.

The predictions I keep getting are at most 2 degrees off; knowing what room temperature you tested the device at and how it differs from the current testing room temperature is good for knowing if you should subtract or add to your prediction. A good motto is to always round down.

It's always a good idea to use logic. If your predictions are always off by the same amount, just round down.

Always round down unless there are extreme conditions in which case round up.

Did anyone else have a problem with the room temprature? My device was tested in a room temprature of about 22 degrees, but when we got to the competition, the room temprature was 16 degree. I was off by about 7 degrees oof

So, has anyone tested the effect that room temp has, is it linear (probably not), its probably logarithmic?
