Re: Politics
Investigations into the president such as the trump one take really long so I'm not gonna be surprised if we find a verdict by the time he is out of office.

Re: Politics
I genuinely agree with this statement. My only issue is that mankind is not perfect and unfortunately greed and power will always be communisms downfall. Otherwise, the concept is a brilliant idea. Re: Politics
Communism won't work. Ever. It's been tried in multiple places and we see exactly how it ends up. Of course the concept sounds idealistic when you're first hearing about it, but name a single time when communism (or even socialism for that matter) has ever worked independently for over about ten years. Obviously capitalism comes with its own circumstances, but there doesn't seem to be the ideal economic ideology that would work in every situation.TheChiScientist wrote:I genuinely agree with this statement. Re: Politics
That seems kind of unfair since the rest of the world has been trying to destroy it ever since the idea started...zandaddy wrote:Communism won't work. Ever. Re: Politics
^True plus I advocate for it only in a fair and "perfect" society. The reasons it's failed before (Ex: USSR, China, Cuba, etc) was due to the reason I've stated before. Corruption, Greed, and Despotism will always be communisms downfall so as long as mankind has these issues we will never know if communism is truly effective. (Especially when the U.S Government always squashes any attempt to test it.)UTF-8 U+6211 U+662F wrote:That seems kind of unfair since the rest of the world has been trying to destroy it ever since it started...zandaddy wrote:Communism won't work. It's worth noting that the Zapatistas in Chiapas though not exactly communist aren't exactly failing either.TheChiScientist wrote:^True plus I advocate for it only in a fair and "perfect" society. Re: Politics
There's also information symmetry and the economic calculation problem. So, I wouldn't exactly say that those are the only things holding back communism.TheChiScientist wrote:^True plus I advocate for it only in a fair and "perfect" society. Re: Politics
In that sense, I think most people would advocate for communism because you explicitly state it would only work in a "perfect" society, so of course in a "perfect" society as you mentioned, communism would work. But it doesn't realistically, which is what I'm trying to get at.TheChiScientist wrote:^True plus I advocate for it only in a fair and "perfect" society. I feel like for the benefit of anyone reading we should define communism before talking about itzandaddy wrote:In that sense, I think most people would advocate for communism because you explicitly state it would only work in a "perfect" society, so of course in a "perfect" society as you mentioned, communism would work.
