Re: Hovercraft B/C
How would you even hook that up while getting enough power to each motor?Galahad wrote:Are we allowed to have 3 motors on the hovercraft but only two runnings/connected to a power source?

Re: Hovercraft B/C
I think it would be safer rules-wise just to use a weight (besides, you get penny rolls to do thatGalahad wrote:balance weight? we don't plan to use it or connect it to powerUTF-8 U+6211 U+662F wrote:What would the third motor do?Galahad wrote:Are we allowed to have 3 motors on the hovercraft but only two runnings/connected to a power source?

Re: Hovercraft B/C
I would definitely find another solution for balancing weight. Even something like coins might work without getting you into any trouble with rules.Galahad wrote:balance weight? we don't plan to use it or connect it to powerUTF-8 U+6211 U+662F wrote:What would the third motor do?Galahad wrote:Are we allowed to have 3 motors on the hovercraft but only two runnings/connected to a power source?

Re: Hovercraft B/C
It would be risky, depending on the event supervisor idk if they would allow it.Galahad wrote:balance weight? we don't plan to use it or connect it to powerUTF-8 U+6211 U+662F wrote:What would the third motor do?Galahad wrote:Are we allowed to have 3 motors on the hovercraft but only two runnings/connected to a power source?

Re: Hovercraft B/C
How close do you guys get to 15 seconds, and how consistently do you get that?
What did the thermometer say to the graduated cylinder?

Re: Hovercraft B/C
The most common way is to use a potentiometer or rheostat that varies power to the back fan and use that to control your speed. To get to 15 seconds, you need to have perfected your skirt, because if you're moving very slowly, the slightest snag in the track will stop you and end your run.arv101 wrote:How close do you guys get to 15 seconds, and how consistently do you get that?
