Can we use black construction/colored paper and paste it on the external surface of our device?harryk wrote:Yes, as long as they are 100% cottonval_chen_11 wrote:Are cotton balls allowed? it says natural fibers and cotton is a natural fiber....just wondering.

Re: Keep the Heat B/Thermodynamics C
Did you measure the starting temperature of 74 degrees after you put the beaker w/ hot water inside your device?foreverphysics wrote:We won KtH today. The temperature dropped to 53.5 degrees (exactly our predicted) after 25 minutes with a starting temp of 74 degrees. Room temperature was standard 20.0 degrees. 100 mL of water.
The test was stupid easy. 10 questions. All multiple choice. The hardest question there?
"Why is heat spontaneously flowing from a cold material to a hot material impossible?" Then they gave us four choices: a) first law of thermodynamics, b) law of conservation of energy, c) second law of thermodynamics, and d) fourth law of thermodynamics.

Is fleece (as in a cut-up fleece blanket) an organic material that would be allowed?

I believe (might be wrong) that most commercially available fleece blankets are made of synthetic fibers.JTMess wrote:Is fleece (as in a cut-up fleece blanket) an organic material that would be allowed?
Re: Keep the Heat B/Thermodynamics C
If there is a tag, it should say what the make-up of the blanket is. Unless it is 100% cotton (which is fairly rare these days), it isn't allowed.JTMess wrote:Is fleece (as in a cut-up fleece blanket) an organic material that would be allowed?

You could just go with wool and save yourself a whole lot of trouble with clarifications.

I am also wondering if I can use black paper because at a regionals competition, I used black paint and the judge said it isn't organic.
