Ok, but I'll have to check when we arrive that day. Anyone else's thoughts on 3 PM? (is there even anyone else planning to come?)

In regards to the meeting and stuff - I'm down, but I won't be able to meet on Friday. We stay in a hotel relatively far from the campus and we aren't allowed to leave the team.

LASA never takes any of these early invitationals seriously (and Clements doesn't either) which is why Seven Lakes appears to be doing well this year. And teams can get worse, too: LASA went from 3rd at nationals (which is what Seven Lakes got last year) to 9th place the year after.

I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree here.

It's true Seven Lakes has a few good people, but they can't carry the entire team. At first, their scores at invitationals seem pretty good, but if you look closely, they have a considerable amount of holes - chem lab, optics, material science, to name a few. It's simply not a well rounded team.

I also agree with what jkang said about Div B/Div C. I don't think Beckendorff's history of doing reasonably well will have much affect on Seven Lakes; lots of things change between middle school and high school. People get busier, lose motivation, become overconfident, etc. And even if it does have some sort of effect, Beckendorff's only getting worse. LASA and Clements are both quite strong schools even through their middle schools (Kealing and Fort Settlement, respectively) aren't that good in scioly

There's no doubt that Seven Lakes is a great team - third place at nationals means something. I just feel like people are overreacting, acting like they've won nationals when all they've done is get second place at state seven times in a row

I remember one year people were making jank graphs of their teams performances relative to time... this discussion going on about seven lakes and stuff seems like it would merit one!
