Most likely for the 2019 season; as per chalker's stated guidelines that the committees are using, Rocks will be in rotation for two years.Destiny24 wrote:Do any of you guys know when Fossils will be back?

I'm actually quite excited to do Rocks and Minerals next year! I've found fossils to be very interesting and have enjoyed doing it for the past two years, but I'm definitely looking forward to the change.Unome wrote:Most likely for the 2019 season; as per chalker's stated guidelines that the committees are using, Rocks will be in rotation for two years.Destiny24 wrote:Do any of you guys know when Fossils will be back?
Has anyone heard more on the possible elimination of Herpetology? That is an event that I'm really looking forward to (own a few reptiles myself), but I would be sad to see it taken out of the rotation. However, Ornithology does seem quite interesting as well.

Actually I feel really nervous for rocks and minerals. One fact is that I love Fossils and partly is that I am really good at Fossils too, thus leaving that for rocks scares me a bit. In the past does anyone know if you are allowed a binder or reference sheet for rocks? Also, I was talking to a grad geology student yesterday and they told me if I want a really hard class go go take mineralogy and I was like ohhhhhhhh!JoJoKeKe wrote:I'm actually quite excited to do Rocks and Minerals next year! Rocks is a binder event I believe.Fluorine wrote:Actually I feel really nervous for rocks and minerals. So which events are replacing which? I know Remote Sensing was replacing Geomapping, Ecology for Green Generation, and R&M is replacing Fossils, but what about the other events?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Also, I think SoM replaces Its About Time.

My other guesses are that Helicopters is replacing Wright Stuff, Microbe Mission for Cell Bio, Towers for Bridge Building, Materials Science for Air Trajectory(?), Optics for Protein Modeling(??), but idk I'm probably wrong...dragon_fruit35 wrote:Yes, Rocks is with a binder. Any hope for ornithology after invasive species? Or will it be pushed back 2 years?

Protein is technically a chemistry event along with Chem Lab and Forensics. There is always 3 chemistry and 3 physics events so.
For C DIV
Chem: Material Science, Chem Lab (Gas Laws/Thermo?), Forensics
Physics: Optics, Sound of Music, Wind Power
Note: Anyone think that protein will ever come back. Have to say that after doing it for a second year it got a bit too repetitive and predictable.
