Anybody know what happened to Carmel Valley in Scrambler? The won it in the San Diego regional but it looks like they got DQ'd at state. That kept them from their normal second place finish.

For N teams, a disqualification is ranked N + 2, no show is ranked N + 1, and participation is ranked N. I wasn't there, but I would guess something didn't work so they were unable to compete but had a device. Same happened to me last year at state; came with a device but it didn't work at the competition so got participation only.Erasmus Wembley wrote:Anybody know what happened to Carmel Valley in Scrambler? my partner was in scrambler. The gym floor was much smoother than our normal floor, so she set the brake back as instructed by our coach. Her partner wasn't notified, and he fiddled with the brake before he was stopped. Due to this, the egg cracked just the smallest bit. Its not their fault- just a miscommunication.
We are all pretty bummed, but hey- Good luck Muscatel! You better win Nats.

Re: Southern California 2016
Mesa Verde. We benefitted from that, but still had a good team. CV, Kraemer, and MV would have been pretty close for second place.

Yeah, saturday was not our day. 3 of our gliders broke right before competition, inclines were suddenly made illegal, stations were accidentally skipped, and binders were broken.

I'm from Dana... we had 2 DQ's apparently, but nobody told us what happened for the two events. I feel so sad for Kraemer... one of the guys was crying when they announced that Kraemer was second

Thanks. Do you remember seeing a couple of people in Mesa Verde shirts at the Souplantation after the competition? I was one of them.
