If you would like to make requests of specific regions, may I suggest politely emailing their coordinators?

Complaining about it here is going to do absolutely nothing.

I think you are getting a little too crazy about this. Yes, SO is all about problem solving, and so is life in general. The problem is that problem solving requires time, a limited resource, especially when you consider the fact that these directors probably have families, jobs, and other priorities.

And not having scores from a regional competition posted publicly online is really not that odd. A number of state competitions don't have results online. Of the 15 regions in Michigan, I've only ever found results from 6 of them.
Agreed. If you think not having results from one regional is bad, the only ones we see on the GA forum are from those that Jaol, Unome, and I go to. We still have no idea who the top 3 at the most recent tournament were.
Not strictly true. We also get some fractured results from news stories, and some from rfscoach's contacts (aka FSA alumni).

I agree that regional tournaments should post results. However, as andrewwski said, the best way to get that happening is to talk to regional directors, so maybe we shouldn't spend so much time arguing over this.

Some of you assume that I have not made direct requests but that is incorrect. I have in the past before we competed in States. Sent emails on two occasions. Got nothing back. Now you can say maybe this and maybe that. May the director of the region does not read email. Maybe someone they hire posts all their information before the regional tournament but they don't pay that person after so more information can't be posted. Bottom line. At least on region steadfastly refuses to part with their results. This isn't an obsession but I find it strange. But that is about it. Thank you for posting for Midstate. Now I think we have most of them.

A couple things. First of all, sometimes posting official results takes time if coordinators are verifying things behind the scenes. Second, a tournament coordinator is not a full-time job; they have other responsibilities. Posting regional results might not be the foremost thing on their mind.

It is not unsportsmanlike to not release overall results to the public. They should release overall results to the competing teams, but they are by no means required to release them to the general public. It is nice that so many regions do, but if one region were to decide not to, it is not in our place to judge them for that decision. It does not make them bad people or bad coordinators; it is simply a judgment call that they decided to make. So I would recommend laying off of tournament coordinators a little bit on this; they do a lot of work to put a tournament together, and releasing overall results should be seen as a bonus that they aren't required to do.

OK, here is what I have...

Adirondack: ??
Capitol: Columbia, Niskayuna, Bethlehem
Eastern Long Island: Ward Melville, Islip, West Babylon, HHHE, Kings Park, Port Jefferson
Lake Erie Niagara: Williamsville E, St. Joseph's, Nichols, Canisius, Lancaster
Lower Hudson Valley: ??
Midwestern: Brighton, Webster Schroder, Pittsford Sutherland, Penfield, (Brockport??)
Mid-Hudson: Mount Academy, Spackenkill, John Jay, Onterora
Mid-State: Fayetteville-Manlius, Jamesville-Dewitt, Cicero-N Syracuse, Chittenango, Camden
Nassau East: Syosset, Wheatley, Division Ave., Wantagh, Hicksville, Bellmore JFK
Nassau West: Great Neck S, Kellenberg, Chaminade, Schreiber, Roslyn
NYC-Metro: Townsend Harris, Stuyvesant, Brooklyn Tech, Collegiate, Dalton, Horace Mann, Leon Goldstein
Southern Tier: Vestal, Maine-Endwell, Ithaca
(All, as far as I know, in order of how they finished in their region)
Those in bold were in the Top 10 at States last year.

In addition, I gave the "History of NY State Results" Excel file to be posted on the NY SO website. It went up for a few days, then it became a File 404. It's up to them if they want it public. UPDATE: Seems to be working now - go here.

And, IMHO, as a Regional Site Director, results aren't published by all simply because us Directors have more important things to do in life. Period.

Thank you, Brother. Sadly, it is 404 again.

Oddly, it is there. I just opened it. It just seems to be hyper-sensitive to when or where or what server or ????, when you click on it. Sometimes it opens for me, sometimes it doesn't.
