Re: Electric Vehicle C
Also what would you guys suggest for wheels that would have low friction, as I am worried that the material that I might test mine on will have a differentt action on different materials. I know that CD wheels are an option but am just open for more options.

You mean high friction, not lowharik2000 wrote:Also what would you guys suggest for wheels that would have low friction, as I am worried that the material that I might test mine on will have a differentt action on different materials. Re: Electric Vehicle C
Perhaps harik2000 does mean low friction, as CD wheels without tires would experience little friction with the ground. But I do agree that high friction tires are more useful for the event since eventually you want to brake, and traveling across a floor with wheels that have no grip is difficult. But involving the axle, you would want low friction.windu34 wrote:You mean high friction, not lowharik2000 wrote:Also what would you guys suggest for wheels that would have low friction, as I am worried that the material that I might test mine on will have a differentt action on different materials. Re: Electric Vehicle C
If you use a previous guess at time of under 2 seconds, you definitely will need high grip wheels or the tires will spin significantly. As well as wasting time and energy, the car will probably not go straight at the target. Then, stopping. If the ES puts the stop point at 9.0m, you will have .5m to slow down and stop. If you use wheels for brakes, it would be nearly impossible to go from about 10 miles per hour to a dead stop in that distance with CD's.

Can be easily done, but will not be able to go nearly as fast due to their motor's lack of speed and torquezandermar18 wrote:Has anyone thought of using a Lego Mindstorms for a device?

Will there be a center line on the track from the start to finish end point?
Never mind I read the answer up above. Oops
