Lots of confidence I see.... I'm hoping that we can have everyone's agreement that we'll post everything about a certain event under the preexisting event thread, this way people won't have to sift through every thread to find the information they'll looking for. A question about the event sources, does anyone know of existing study guides since the soinc.org site doesn't have one?

I haven't checked, but if there would be one, it would probably be in the wiki. Otherwise, you could ask for some class notes from your Earth/Space science teacher, or Google the topics and build your own (Always works!)

See if there is a geology teacher at the high school. They will have stuff for you to learn from.

sigh ....my whole high school only has 1 count them 1 geo major sadly she teaches honors bio and one oceanology class (which is also mostly bio)

Ok. I'm totally new to science olympiads. I've competed in the National Ocean Science Bowl and the National Science bowl. Can someone please explain like what it is, how it's done, and where I can find information and study material. My school is not up on the science department and so we're just now starting this science olympiads. HELP, PLEASE!

and look for books that cover the information you need, usually school textbooks are a good place to start

I was having a little bit of trouble finding this: What is a submarine eruption? I think it's when the lava goes directly under water but I'm not sure.
