My coach doesn't have it, and the girl who's doing it says the rules on soinc.org were wrong for last year so they're probably not correct this year... If anyone can clarify for me, that'd be great, thanks.
The SoCal state website has the same rules as soinc.org, so I would assume that those are the rules that will be used.
Thanks!

They didn't opt out, there was apparently a mistake in the Anatomy scores and with the new, correct scorings, Rancho was higher than Cerro Villa by several points.
Ouch. :( must have been painful, thinking they were going to go to state...

One of the parents of Cerro Villa is an occasional substitute for our school.

This has happened in the past, and from what I remember is that both schools ended up going. Of course that could change this year...

Congratulations to everyone that competed in the LA Regional competitions, so excited to see everyone at State!

It would be pretty rare for the number of teams advancing to change once the allocation is made because the team allocation is done using 3 teams from each Regional program coupled with a proportionate allocation which is based of the total number of schools from all Regional programs.

It's possible that at the time of awards that they didn't know the actual number of teams advancing and just said that the top 3 will move on and then they checked later to find out that they were actually sending 4 or something like that.

From what I remember, somewhere around 4 years ago, the number between div b and c differed- b had 26 while c had 27. I heard at the time that it was because of a scoring error at OC Regionals, and I assumed they let the conflicting teams both advance, but since this information was obtained second hand, I could very well be wrong.

It is known that due to a mistake in the scoring of Anatomy & Physiology in the OC Division B Regional Tournament, Rancho San Joaquin will now be moving on to State. Also, there are a few modifications in the scores. (Good thing Jeffrey Trail still got first though :))

Any predictions for B and/or C for State?

A lot of schools have certainly stepped up their game, so I have a feeling this year will have some different results than last year.

I predict Muscatel for Div B and Troy for Div C. ;)
