This thread was the first time i ever heard about the PLAN test and i spent a long time trying to find out stuff about it but the ACt webiste is the most unhelpful thing ever. It needs to learn from the SAT website which is great.
Anyway, i would like to know how to register for it and the dates that it gets administered and where. Just pretty much registration stuff.

Just checked the 2007 NY cutoff, and it's the same at the 2008. That means I barely made the cutoff... with a margin of 0. o_o
Oops, guess I lied. I took the PSAT in 2006 and 2007. I qualified for semi the second year (I think I qualified the first time too, but wasn't old enough). I checked my score again yesterday, and it looks like I got 229, not 219.

My SATs were M:800/CR:800/WR:740, btw. I thought I'd get lower on SAT than PSAT because I essentially lost the ability to write in the English language when I entered high school. :\

How smart your state is in proportion to its size.. If I remember right, they make it so that the top 1% or something in each state makes the cut. If your state happens to have a rather small population, but a lot of smart students, the score will probably be higher.
To ensure that academically able young people from all parts of the United States are included in this talent pool, Semifinalists are designated on a state representational basis.

What subject tests are you guys taking? I was thinking about taking Molecular Biology in June but my practice test scores haven't been too good. The ecology and lab questions are killing me!!
