Re: Astronomy
I miss when it was solar system. I also wouldnt mind concentrating on some other sort of star type.

Re: Astronomy
What do you think? We live in orbit around one, don't we?

Re: Astronomy
Well, if epsilon aurigae is going to be covered the next three years, doesn't that mean there's little chance of the topic changing? Are they able to change the topic now that they already put that on the rules?? ![Confused :?](./images/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif)

Re: Astronomy
I would think so, they can't do the same topic for 6 years in a row.
It is only a DSO, so in the next tests they can still ask questions about it, even if it doesn't focus on variable stars.

Re: Astronomy
Oh, well. Variable stars is not a topic that should stay on this long, though.

Re: Astronomy
On the rules, when it says we have to know about cosmological distance equations, do we just have to know what they are or do we have to use them in the test itself?

Re: Astronomy
What's the fun in knowing what they are if you can't use them?? You should definitely be able to use the distance modulus very easily, and know how to interpret from a graph the distance to Cepheids.

Re: Astronomy
Is it normal for a test to not specifically mention any of the DSOs, because the Athens invitational test did not.
