Depends on how good the zombies are. If they're the slow, dumb type you find in thins like Walking Dead - which also don't convert others into zombies by a method that ensures that infected people are probably gonna get eaten before they turn into zombies, then I'd get a machete maybe and hope that society remains intact (cuz those zombies, who are regularly killed with melee weapons, aren't gonna stand a chance against the population of Texas). If they're the fast, overpowered version (like some of those depicted in anime), I'd get a gun and start going on a quest with whoever is ready for an adventure to figure out how the zombies are so ridiculously strong.
If the zombie virus is spread by air or water though, humanity is pretty much just screwed depending on the aspects of the virus (infectivity, conversion rate, etc.)

WWYD if the city of New York was hit by a nuclear bomb? (riots would happen, political turmoil, and a definite chance of if more nuclear strikes by and against the US)

Well that would depend on a lot of things (such as who did it), but I would probably be sad for all the people in NYC, and watch the world move on as it usually does. (Wow I sound really depressing).
