Re: Illinois 2010
well, good luck at our regionals. we're really excited, this is our 2nd year of doing a regionals and we hope it's better than the last one.
we had a speaker that was a little boring, but we have different activities to keep you guys occupied until the awards ceremony.

Re: Illinois 2010
who else is coming to the New Trier Regional?
and what did you guys think of last year? what are some things we can improve on? (better food, boring wait time, bad tests)

Re: Illinois 2010
yeah, we're really working on keeping you guys entertained while the tests are being graded. i think a 1 - 1.5 hour wait time is inevitable but we'll try to make it as painless as possible.

Re: Illinois 2010
That would definitely help. The award ceremony for Loyola started 45 minutes late, and we waited there for almost 2 hours. I'm at CLC, and they're okay about time, but not fantastic. Central's invite had a talent show during the wait, and that was a ton of fun.SO4L wrote:yeah, we're really working on keeping you guys entertained while the tests are being graded. i think a 1 - 1.5 hour wait time is inevitable but we'll try to make it as painless as possible.

Re: Illinois 2010
oh yeah, i remember that. we were all on our iPhones and comps, playing games/programming to kill time.
remember that wall ball game? at least they were having fun.
but i think that there's going to be some live classical music playing for you guys. one of our members is a part of a violin dynasty family and their entire family would play. it should be great, if it's going to happen.

Re: Illinois 2010
Hey
I'll be at New Trier this saturday
prolly doing 8 events or so for niles north... so ill prolly be sleeping/eating during awards, regardless of the entertainment.
Last year new trier did a pretty decent job, I don't mind sitting around a little longer if it means the results are correct. It always sucks when the wrong team gets called for a state bid and ends up not qualifying... 1-1.5 hours if pretty much inevitable. 2 hours is reasonable, I might become a little restless after 2.5 - 3 hours tho.
What events are everyone doing?
I'll prolly be doing Astronomy, Bridge, Eggonaut, Mousetrap Car, Physics Lab, Mission Possible, Remote Sensing, and Trajectory. It's gonna be pretty hectic.
If I don't sign back on to the forums this week, good luck to everyone.

Re: Illinois 2010
Im new to States, and im a freshman...im just gonna guess and say that teams from COD and the teams from New Trier regionals will be, in general, the most competitive?
So would they be in division AA? (Split A and AA...i think AA is the higher division?)

Re: Illinois 2010
yeah, the teams from the NT regional. but i'd also look out for IMSA and Stevenson, wherever their regionals are held at.

Stevenson's at my regional. I'm really not looking forward to going against them. The other big one I'm looking out for is CL Central.SO4L wrote:yeah, the teams from the NT regional. but i'd also look out for IMSA and Stevenson, wherever their regionals are held at.
