You guys were really enthusiastic during the awards ceremony :] You guys got 21st though, out of 40. That's not bad for your first year with such a hectic start! Are you gonna do it again next year?tmanneo wrote:That was so much fun being at my first competition. Definitely hectic, especially with our team using trashbags at competition for aprons, walking 2 miles to competition, and having only a 3 calcs for the whole team, but it was fun. I'm so proud of my whole team.I can't wait to see how we all did individually and I especially can't wait till next year.

Re: Massachusetts 2010
I am especially proud of my former teammates from Reading High School for placing 4th yesterday. That makes a real powerhouse of a town in science olympiad with Coolidge being the middle school that feeds into it. I hope a lot of the Coolidge kids decide to join the program next year. It isn't nearly as intense but it is still a fun time and takes up very little of your free time.
I started this high school team 4 years ago (this was RMHS's 5th season) in my freshman year. We initially placed 18/33 my freshman year and built on that each year. 18th, 9th, 9th, 6th and now 4th. I'd like the young teams to keep this in mind that you will improve and to stick with it.
Also Congratulations to Coolidge and A-B. Have a great time at nationals!

Oh! We got 21st? Do you have the whole sheet of scores/placements? I can't find it on the website, lol.
And thanks about the enthusiasm, haha. We were just so happy we were able to do it.
For sure, we will keep with it.

My whole team was either sleeping, playing on nintendo DS, or reading during the award ceremony. When we won 4th in experimental, I had to nudge the two people to go up because they didn't even know what was going on.

Wow, that's pretty bad, haha. We had a few people doing that too, but it was very close to the end. 26 events to read off is a lot.

Re: Massachusetts 2010
Hahaha. I was kinda hoping for at least top 10 in my events, but no such luck. It's hard to do well and lead, but next year it'll be a lot better. We could've done a lot better if:
- We impounded anything for It's About Time, as our people for that counted in their heads and would've gotten 4th with that
- We had done anything for trajectory or mission possible
So yea, definitely better next year
