I am co-ES, so I am not sure I am allowed to release times! Have to recuse myself when my team flies.
At least we are moving up in the world. We are getting a real gym with 25' ceiling, 80x103 dimensions. Prior years we were in a gym with 19' ceiling, single court with no additional space. Testing tomorrow and Tuesday for final configuration. Built new props today, so need to test.
One thing we are doing different, as ES. They were going to give a 2.5 hour slot for WS, and later slot for ELG. Since same ES team for both, I suggested we have a 5-hour slot for both, and have them come through either class as they show up. Its all the same: Measure, weigh, then fly/time. This gives teams a lot more flexibility in scheduling. We expect about 25 teams in each division, so a small event compared to a lot of others. It is 100% drop-in, no sign-ups for slots or anything like that.
Generally, competition is not stiff in NM for flying events, but I am trying to work with more schools to raise the bar. Presented at the fall conference, got pretty good feedback from teachers. Hoping to get into some more schools next year.

Not at any competition I've seen or heard of... A good portion of people have broken 3 minutes, however.

4 minutes requires a higher ceiling...
I'm struggling just to get 2:45 in very low ceilings(With about 60-65% max winds because I don't want to get my plane stuck) but if I had a high ceiling (40ft, maybe higher) I could definitely be getting 4 minutes.

Usable ceiling height is almost exactly 20ft(Unless if your circles are tiny), but that's not the only problem. The gym is also isn't that long or wide so if I were to wind to max my plane would just hit the ceiling 10+ times and crash into a wall.

times at sepa were majority in the 0-30 second range
only around 6 teams were able to compete w/ 50+ seconds
im not going to release raw times since im not able to and ppl will not want to reveal
but the top 6 teams were all 50-1:30 ish (ik what they are, but ofc i cant reveal em)
ceiling was around 20 ft w obstacles past 20
vents were on and the drafts were crazy
only extremely wound up planes could make it right below 20 ft
everyone else only climbed around 15 or so
there were also nets on one side of the gym in which some schools either hit, got close to, or got stuck in
