My team has! We're going to have our first test launch tomorrow. My rocket will likely fail epically, but that's the fun part![/quote

lol nice. I started building and finished my first rocket already. It was based off of a design I used last year but I put more work into the fins because last year they sucked, and I changes the nose cone design. Also, now i'm using polyurethane glue instead of the silicone glue.

Has anyone read the book Rocket Boys, aka October Sky? It's about these group of boys building and launching rockets. I have waited for October to come before I launch my rockets, lol.

I haven't read October Sky, but I have seen the movie. It's pretty good. I recommend it to all rocket geeks! :geek:

Has anyone done any test launches yet? I did my first one today and got a hang time of about 19 seconds. It was insanely windy, so I had to go chase it for while, but it was great to be launching again!

I loved the movie October Sky. It was really good and got me into rockets. I haven't been able to even start on my rockets yet though. :(

My state doesn't do egg-o-naut, so I have only had to deal with it at an out of state invite and nats last year. we used tape last year because the various glues proved inconsistent. is it legal to use epoxy? it doesnt technically bond the objects...

Under last year's rules, I'm not sure exactly where epoxy would have stood. It's irrelevant this year, however, as the rules specifically state that glues must be silicone or polyurethane based.

What is considered silicone or polyurethane based? Does gorilla glue count?

I think gorilla glue is polyurethane based. Also, you could look for what is called "PL 100% Polyurethane". It works very well.
