I know Dave's kit this year is a tandem plane, but the rules say it must be a monoplane. Would a tandem be considered a monoplane?

If I recall correctly, Dave's design is a little bit shy of a tandem, but is not a true tandem, as the horizontal stabilizer is ever so slightly shorter than the wing(he designs the plane so it meets all qualifications). I think his 2019 kit built by the instructions would meet all parameters for size (I think).

the "Monoplane" in the rules is described such that the "wing" is defined as the single largest surface. Thus, with a "very near tandem", one surface will be larger than the other, and thus be the "wing".
One could purposely make one surface a measurable amount smaller without affecting flying characteristics.

I think you need a rubber motor with a thicker cross-section. Last year at nationals I used 0.052 and got 4th, but you need to remember the new changes for this year. Did you change your propeller from the 14cm to 24 cm? 0.065 will definitely not work with a 24cm propeller. The freedom flight kit this year comes with a 24 cm propeller and the thinnest rubber provided in the kit is 0.087. Also, remember the new minimum weight. Last year's minimum weight was 7 grams. This year it's 8 grams. It may not seem like a big difference but it actually matters quite a lot.

Depends on the ceiling... (Here my guesses. Assume all bonuses given and no penalties.)
Low ceiling: 2:15-3:00 (I'd say any place that's less than 25 Feet)
Medium ceiling: 2:45-3:30 (I'd say any place that's 35 Feet or less)
High ceiling: 3:30-4:30 (I'd say any place that's 50 Feet or less)
Insanely high ceiling: 4:45+ (UIUC Armory falls under this category.
It's almost 100 feet btw.

Does anyone know what Rubber Band I should use for a 15 cm propeller? Plane with hard time getting lift..

How much does the propeller weigh? Is it flaring or just a regular propeller? How heavy is your entire plane without the rubber?

Right now I am flying about 1:40 with 23" 2.06g .072" rubber at approximately 0.3-inch-ounces and 115 turns on a 1:15 winder and the 15cm ikra propeller without any modifications our plane weighs 8.00 g. I was wondering what you would recommend doing as the next step in improving flight time.
