I'd say it's likely. Although, missing people, even very good people, isn't a death sentence. The closest my team came to beating Brookwood at state was when we were missing two members last year.

Some random facts:
  • Without the events that didn't place, Ladue Middle would've gotten 41 points - the lowest score ever recorded
  • Ladue got 70 points, which means that roller coaster and WIDI combined made up 29 points
  • Thermodynamics in both divisions were thrown out because of bad proctoring
  • Ladue High was missing two of their best members
  • Pembroke High beat Ladue High by 13 points (61-74) while the middle schools had 69-70 - one point
  • There were $100 dollar scholarships for the winners of Battery Buggy and Mousetrap Vehicle, in honor of Alan Pringle

41 isn’t the lowest recorded score... unless you mean in Missouri? No, b/c Pembroke high got 26 at regional... State? For div B? Kinda confused as to what your point is in the first one. So what if they got a really low score when you don’t count the ones they did terribly on? We already knew Ladue High was going to be missing people. Lastly, every point counts... I’m sure Pembroke middle felt pretty good about edging their way to nationals by one point after having missed it by one point to wydown last year.

Kinda interested as to why Thermo got thrown out, what happened in the room and why they thought it was serious enough to toss it. It’s not like tossing events isn’t common, but still interesting to get the full scoop.

Here’s my two cents: congratulations to Pembroke High and Middle for their bid to nationals, and congrats to Ladue for their 2nd place finishes as well, that’s nothing to be shy about at all.

Oh and rip Alan Pringle
