Correct! No problem; the hellgrammites and fishfly larvae are very similar. Don't sweat it. ;)
Something is wrong here. Fishfly larvae are not listed in the rules as macroinvertebrates that will be tested.

And you are right Dark they are not listed in the rules, but it is better to know them than not to. That is because I have had macroinvertebrates on tests that I know were not listed in the rules. So, it is better to be safe than sorry.

It would be best if we stuck to the list. If a test you took had a fishfly larvae, then the person writing the test obviously did not follow the rules. We should spend more time id'ing bugs that are more likely to be on the test, rather than those that would only be on as a result of a test writer's mistake.

I'm sorry; I had always thought that the fishfly larva was on the list, hence why it's on the soinc.org practice worksheet.
