Because they were classified as two different genera until it was discovered that they are the same organism. The list kept that probably so they could ask a question like "What do the two have in common?" or something dumb like that.
2009 events:
Fossils: 1st @ reg. 3rd @ states (stupid dinosaurs...) 5th @ nats.
Dynamic: 1st @ reg. 19thish @ states, 18th @ nats
Herpetology (NOT the study of herpes): NA
Enviro Chem: 39th @ states =(

By putting more items on the list, it makes S.O. seem more important. ;)

Unfortunately, taking Latin never helps with anything, except for the destruction of your soul.

Alas, you see, the plural of genus is not geni, it is genera.
