I personally like stories that integrate it into the background instead of interrupting the storyline to tell it, but, hey, you have your opinions and I have mine.

But it's a completely different format. Shakespeare wrote plays, not novels, and plays have to have stage directions. That's not a weak point of Shakespeare's writing; on the contrary, it's quite essential.

I think you might be confused about what I'm saying. When I said stories that integrate into the background, I was talking about novels and such, not plays. When I'm reading, I like to immerse myself in the story, but the stage directions and stuff ruin that for me, so I tend to avoid them. Nothing personal Shakespeare!

Okay, so you're saying that you don't like reading plays in general? That's completely different from saying you don't like Shakespeare.

Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare

I liked P&P, but Romeo and Juliet was dumb. I hated that play so much.

Um, no. You don't call Shakespeare "dumb".

lol, what the pigeon? How does "Romeo and Juliet was dumb" translate to "Shakespeare was dumb"? I didn't say I hated Shakespeare. Just that particular play. I thought Julius Caesar was alright, and Merchant of Venice was pretty funny.

I'm not saying that you should like every one of Shakespeare's plays, but none of them are 'dumb'. Especially one of the most famous and genius works ever written. BTW, 'Shakespeare' can refer to his writing as well: "I was reading Shakespeare". That's what I ment.

One of the best books by far, and the most profoundly moving in all literature is A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens.

In the Academy literature progam at my school we read Agatha Christe and Sir Aurthor Conan Doyle. We have been reading those since last year, and we keep picking new ones. Our class has only 12 people in it, and we all want to read the same good books. They wrote so many, Agatha Christie alone wrote 80.

Besides, in high school, it's Brave New World or Pride and Prejudice or To Kill A Mockingbird, right? Besides, I go to an afterschool that makes reading Shakespeare and doing worksheets and essays on it mandatory. I am pretty sure not many people read Shakespeare that much.

well in High school I wasn't much for reading but in the waning months of high school I can actually say that I can say i have a few favorite books,
