Re: What's on your CTRL+V?
Not only was he
expected to serve the dishes in the
correct order and manner and to carve
the meat properly, he had to know the right word for each type of carving. A
deer was broken. A swan was lifted. A duck was unbraced. A hen got despoiled.
Finally, a peacock ended up disfigured. Considering that the squire did his
carving with a sword, you might make a point that every kind of meat he
addressed ended up disfigured.
(Copy pasted from a PDF, why does it make the formatting all weird?)

Southern Fried Salmon Patties
Ingredients:
1 (14 3/4 ounce) canned salmon
1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
1/4 cup cornmeal
1/4 cup flour
1 egg
3 tablespoons mayonnaise
Directions:
Open salmon and drain thoroughly. Place drained salmon in mixing bowl and flake evenly with a fork. Add onion, corn meal, flour, mayonnaise, and egg. Stir until well blended.
Shape the mixture into patties about the size of an average burger or less. Cook in oil in skillet over medium heat until browned on each side. Turn once while frying.
Note: The mayonnaise helps the patties hold their shape and keeps them from being too dry.

Re: What's on your CTRL+V?
Crockpot potato soup
Ingredients:
1 30oz. bag of frozen diced hash browns
1 32 oz box of chicken broth
1 can of cream of chicken soup (10 oz)
1 pkg. cream cheese (8 oz, not fat free)
3 oz bacon bits
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
Put the hash browns in the crockpot. Add in the chicken broth, cream of chicken soup and half of the bacon bits. Add a pinch of salt and pepper.
Cook on low for 7-8 hours or until potatoes are tender.
An hour before serving, cut the cream cheese into small cubes. Place the cubes in the crock pot. Mix a few times throughout the hour before serving.
Once the cream cheese is completely mixed in, it's ready to serve.
Top with cheddar cheese and some additional bacon bits.
Enjoy!

Re: What's on your CTRL+V?
I’m usually pretty accepting of writing systems but WHO DECIDED THIS SYLLABARY WAS A GOOD IDEA, JUST LOOK AT THIS PIGEON AND HOW SIMILAR SOME KANA LOOK
フ and ワ <— Okay I guess that’s not too hard to tell them apart
ラ and ヲ <— Uh… getting slightly more confusing here
ス and ヌ <— Whoa better be careful with that diagonal stroke there
ク and ケ <— If your penmanship sucks, you’re basically screwed
チ and テ <— This pair isn’t so bad, maybe they’ll get easier after this
セ and ヒ <— Wow, really? The one little hook differentiates these?
シ and ツ <— OH YOU’VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME
ソ and ン <— WHAT THE ACTUAL PIGEON JAPAN
