Oceanography is much more focused on the geology of the oceans and other aspects of physical oceanography, whereas to my understanding marine water quality is far more chemical and biologically oriented. That's my take on it anyway.

agree with unome, things will be set to make flight times shorter, as even with this year, the flight times were very long, with it being common for teams to have a plane in the air past their 8 minute period. Though, the committee must be careful in this as by making it such that flight times decrease so much, they also allow for the variation between top and bottom teams to be very small
