No one else from C division has commented on the test. Come on guys, what did you think?

The C division test was long. My partner and I finished with only a minute left. While I can only comment on the first half of the test, I thought it was reasonable.

I know my partner and I missed a few... there was one related to rock age (my partner and I know fairly little about rocks) and one question that asked how far away a fault line was based off a graph. We threw in random numbers for those ones.

I did the first half of the test- essentially, all the questions that concerned volcanoes. I think I got most of everything right- there was one a'a' or pahoehoe lava question that I was completely clueless about. Otherwise, I think my answers were reasonable. I'm thinking that the lava viscosity calculations made a huge difference in where you placed... there were a lot of points there.

What did others think about the C division test?

About how many questions were there, and what type were they? I want to compare the length with our regional test (although it was really easy  ) Plus, what kind of graph did you get for the fault line question?

Yeah...my partner didnt think we needed to split the test, and since he knows more than i do about the event, he proceeded to do the event while i sat there and helped out plotting the graph and doing the viscosity.
We didnt finish, cause even though my partner knew everything really well, it was still time consuming. We ended up with 18th.

I would guess there were around 75 questions? I don't know what the graph was like for the fault line question- I didn't do that part. The questions were a mixture of multiple choice, fill in the blank, long answer, calculations, and using images/data to answer questions. There was even a dimensional analysis problem, actually.

Hey gneiss, how close were you to finishing? As I was walking out, I was curious how many teams actually finished the test. Hehe, did you also use the cardboard desk? : P

Hmm, I believe we just finished the P and S wave time chart at the end of the event, but Im not totally sure.
And haha, I dont think we used the cardboard desk, no.

I have to say, the testing conditions were pretty bad. It was very awkward trying to do the test on those little desks (I didn't use cardboard), and it was really hard to keep everything in order/share ruler, compass etc.

So does anyone know what the graph was??

There were quite a few graphs, specify which?
