Re: Weird things that have happened at your school?
In my 8th grade science class, we were trying to identify mystery liquids, so one of the kids tasted all the mystery liquids. One was mineral oil and another was glycerin. He was out the next day.
Another time, we had to identify mystery crystals. They were labeled A-J. I bet him that crystal H was citric acid (vitamin C) and I told him that if it was, it would taste sour. He tastes it. Turns out it was something else, and he was sick for 2 days.

Re: Weird things that have happened at your school?
So my freshmen year, we had 4 bomb threats, full intruder lockdown for an hour and a half because they received a call saying someone in th school had a gun, someone set a bathroom on fire and the school was evacuated for about 2 hrs, and there was a sexting incident between a teacher and student
Last year, my sophomore year, we had a total of 7 bomb threats, including one that they gave the all clear however as soon as mostly everyone was inside again they set off the fire alarm and came on the intercom yelling to leave the building immediately, not sure what happened but school ended about 20 min early
So yeah bomb threats are a pretty regular thing and it's essentially become a way to get out of taking a test(as most of them were written for), oh and the funny thing is how other schools in the district are starting to copy us with the bomb threats. And I'm not even going to mention all the drug problems

like last week or something, someone found a pipe bomb near our track. they had to evacuate the whole area and call in a bomb squad.
oh, and some kid was smart enough to stick his hand in a sander or something during woodshop... he had to go to the hospital and turns it just cut to the middle of the bone...

I go to school at Cerro Villa MS. A neighboring school of El Rancho Charter, a once dominating science olympiad team. Rebecca Black goes to El Rancho. It's Friday everyday there.

Lots of Pill popping.
Lots of drug dogs (I hate my district why are we constantly getting checked and stereotyped, booth and rising Starr don't get searched all the time)
Someone threw a condom down my back (not my best moment)
My 4th period teacher assaulted a girl (more or less)
Someone almost got pregneant

My social studies classroom has a hornet's nest in the ceiling. It freaks everybody out.
Also, on the last day of school, there was a water balloon fight inside the bus and people were running out of the emergency exit in the back while the bus was moving.

At Regionals one year, I heard one of the Rocks and Minerals kids from another team from my school say that he was sure that one of the stations had halite, especially because he licked it. I informed him that that was actually calcite, and was no doubt covered in hydrochloric acid (though diluted). I don't think he ended up getting sick, but needless to say, that was the last time he licked a mineral.mingtian wrote:In my 8th grade science class, we were trying to identify mystery liquids, so one of the kids tasted all the mystery liquids.
