It did- I don't mind it anymore, but now I don't practice it because I'm so far behind some of the others in my band, and I'd much rather play the mallets anyway.NYLHVSSO wrote:I play the piano. I am also a percussionist and can play the drumset, mallets, congas, etc.
The mallets are really easy because I play the piano.
If the sound of the snare annoys you, just turn the snares off.

Re: Instruments?
Well, you can't exactly turn the snares off in the middle of a band rehearsal. The conductor's gonna notice and ask why his snare drum has no snare.NYLHVSSO wrote:I play the piano. I am also a percussionist and can play the drumset, mallets, congas, etc.

That too, but that's not to say there aren't fun things to do on a drum with the snares off. I can play Mary had a little lamb and Ode to Joy, personally.gneissisnice wrote:Well, you can't exactly turn the snares off in the middle of a band rehearsal. Re: Instruments?
I have no knowledge on wind instruments. I used to play the cello before I played the drums.
I actually find it easier to play a drumroll on a hard wooden surface or a wall than doing it on a snare drum.

Re: Instruments?
I play viola, and that is it. Is it just me, or are the only places I meet other viola players at places like Scioly and leadership conferences? It seems to be a very nerdy instrument.
I am the one called "TARDIS Hat Girl," and am known as such by all.
