I mean, it's often difficult enough to be prepared for the competition floor in terms of Distance Score, but it's even harder to do with time. I know there's not much you can do to regulate flooring and such between tournaments, but it makes it hard to predict.
To make it more challenging for you all. Predicting the time has traditionally been a component of the vehicle events in division C.
With all due respect, I don't recall prediction being a part of mousetrap or scrambler.

Same. Although I agree with chalker7 in the sense that it makes it more of a challenge. When I did electric vehicle, I had the vehicle keep track of the time and output it to a display so I could do many runs at the same distance and get a better average (eliminates human error with the stopwatch). At the end, I had hundreds of runs at each distance on various types of floors. This is one of those things that forces you to be prepared. Building the car isn't enough, you have to do many trial runs to do well. At the competition, it was evident which teams had spent time practicing and which had not.

I've found that with 2+ kg, my vehicle can't even go the full distance. In fact, I've found that my vehicle (weighing about .4 kg) does best without any extra mass when going long distance. However, it does better with more mass when in the 5-6.5 meter range. How have your results been?

Also, how is the clarification on this coming along? (I think one was submitted)

If you're referring to mine (about changing the mass of the vehicle) still no reply from Soinc.

If you could let us know if you receive anything I would greatly appreciate it. And illusionist it seems to be the same with my vehicle. Doesn't go the full 10m with 2.4kg :(

Will do.

Are you using bearings in your vehicle? It seems weird that you can't hit 10m at 2.4 kg.

Yes I am. I thought it was a bit weird as well.

Yeah, bearings and lubricant.

I haven't put on lubricant yet. And have yet to test it on smooth low friction floor. But I doubt the transition from concrete to gym floor will make a 3m difference.

Rule 3f. I only have 1 axle that spans my vehicle. What do? I'll try to draw it haha.

|-----------| <---- not axle
--| |-- <---- 2 small wheels on
| | Separate axles
--|-----------|-- <---- one long axle

EDIT: darn can't do lots of spaces. Just pretend there's a lot of space to make it like up nicely for the middle two lines :)
