i would think that u dont really need to study or even know their sounds because regionals would barely have frog calls, and it isnt stated or mentioned on the rulesinuyashakusho wrote:A lot of different geckos make different sounds. Tokay geckos go to-kay! Some others go geck-o! Many others make different sounds. However you probably won't get ANY calls, though I wouldn't be surprised to hear them at nationals. If you do get calls, they will most likely be frog calls. Also know how to recognise vocalizations of geckos, crocodylians, and anything else, but concentrate on frogs.robotman09 wrote:the only lizard that makes a sound are tokay geckos and they are really easy to tell

Yeah, it is mentioned in the rules.
Rules 3e: "The event could include life and preserved specimens, skeletal material, recordings of songs, and slides or pictures of speciemens.

and sry, i didn't see that. but i think "songs" most likely implies mating songs, but not from lizards or crcodylians

Re: Amphibians and Reptiles
no that hard, we claimed 2nd. um, i would suggest looking no some stuff about turtle trapping, or hunting of crocodiles/alligators/snakes, something like that was on our test, and also taking a hard look at incubation stuffyousmellchinese123 wrote:So you guys have already gone to state, was the test for amph and repts considerably hard?

Re: Amphibians and Reptiles
I would say that it was not considerably harder. It was a bit harder and we had to do a bit of moving around, the test was at stations. We had a lot of skeleton/bone identification. Make sure you can name any bone in a particular skeleton. The very last question was kind of tricky. It gave about 10 different genus/families and asked if they were viviparous, oviparous, or both. It wasn't very hard to figure out what was right but you had to check every species within the genus/family to make sure that it wasn't a weirdo and went against the trend. We got 1st.yousmellchinese123 wrote:So you guys have already gone to state, was the test for amph and repts considerably hard?

Re: Amphibians and Reptiles
Oh yeah, I am sure Div. B was much easier. This is a pretty typical level for division C.
