I play alto sax. My band director is a horn player, and since horn players are mortal enemies of saxophones, he enjoys making anti-sax jokes. (which are, admittedly, pretty funny) Such as: "Ladies and gentlemen......and saxes" "No sax is (a) safe sax" "What do you call 300 saxophones at the bottom of the ocean? A good start." Sigh....marching band is so much fun.

Maybe you should stop being scary and anti-social. Go clarinets!!!! The Wind Ensemble saxes especially are nuts.

Hey! We're not anti-social! Scary, maybe. Remember when we were waiting to go for marching band and the drum line was doing the hokey-pokey? And how they always played Jump On It before every game? Like a ritual almost.
Band is like a cult. Don't forget it.

It's true, all band directors are anti-saxes, especially BEGINNER saxes, since they are SO LOUD. But they're good when they have a good sound, like in jazz band

I'll never forget the cult thing. I made it up. Remember when the clarinets hid in the playground so we didn't have to march Homecoming Parade? And the saxaphone's pupil? Proof you guys are nuts.

And the saxaphone's pupil?
What was that? i don't remember.
Remember when they carried a table outside on the field with someone on top dancing around and Mr. Banddirector pretended not to notice then said "you can leave the table there gentlemen?"
