The question is how did you keep the nose cone from fusing onto the bottle when that happened

we have stoppers, i'll post a pic, the bottom half shoots up and when it is out of juice the top keeps going forward and at the top it all seperates, it has gotten3 to 4 minutes consistantly.
here's a rough paint sketch:this is without fins on the drawing, not on the real thing!

How seriously do they take the pointed nosecone rule? I don't think my pointed nosecone is sharp enough to hurt anyone, but I don't want to get dq'ed either.

Read the clarifications on the nationals site, I would put a ping pong ball on it just to be safe

at the IL state competition, i had a rolled nosecone made from plastic, and it was pointed, though not extremely so, but the directors did not say anything about it. As long as you avoid metal tips, i don't think there will be an issue.

Hi, I was just wondering what times people were getting this year for rockets? I seem to be getting only around 30-40 seconds average.

My highest was 35, but most were in the 20s.

My schools regional time was 42seconds without the bonus [cold and rainy day too]. Then weather was very favorable for a select group of teams got some really good currents going at State. My school got 8th at State with a time of 2 minutes of flight time and went 1/4 of a mile away from launch zone the winner went much farther than that even, for Nat's depending on the weather I bet you can bet to see some multi minute times because of favorable air/wind conditions

At our state the best time was 5 minutes, so I predict the best at nationals should be between 3 to 5 minutes
