They said that you aren't allowed to have an intact field guide, this basically means that if you just take a field guide and hole punch it it will be dq. They never said anything about photocopying though so would that be allowed?

I would assume that is allowed seeing as you can use "any source" and i'm not sure how they would be able to tell if it is the same sized paper

So I think what they are mostly trying to convey that if you hole punch they field guide itself its a dq.

Hey, y'all!

If you're done with your season, the [wiki]Herpetology/Identification List[/wiki] needs a lot of help. If you have notes and are willing to contribute a little bit of them, it would be greatly appreciated! Feel free to adjust the outline of the page however you need, and if you want to create pages for different subsets of the ID list (i.e. [wiki]Invasive Species List/Aquatic Animals[/wiki]), that's 100% fine as well. This is an easy way to get recognition for work, such as exalted medals!

What do they mean by "intact"?
Can I rip out pieces of field guide?

I would assume by "intact" they mean that you wouldn't be able to rip pages out, you could photocopy it but it can't be an exact page just from a field guide.

I'm assuming by "intact" they mean no complete pages from field guides, just fragments of information scattered throughout your notes or paraphrased. Photocopying the pages would be the same as ripping out pages and putting them in your binder.

I think they mean intact by exact from the book because would they search every single binder for a page photocopied from the field guide? Like a page ripped out a field guide would be obvious because its smaller but I have more than 300 pages in my binder how would they check that?

Its honor code or on how much you are willing to risk, sure the proctor may not notice but I would not want my chance at nationals and everything I have worked towards to be ended by a single page (even if the risk is minute). Might as well just paraphrase the information into a word doc and then print that out.
