You're right, I'm sorry. I edited it to fix.

What does CLSM stand for and how does it work?

CLSM stands for Confocal Laser Scanning Microscope. Unlike regular microscopes, it uses a laser rather than light to obtain an image. It uses a pinhole to remove "out-of-focus" light. Whereas with a regular microscope, you either see the surface or deep within the cell but not both, the confocal microscope allows you to see multiple levels of the specimen allowing you to form a 3D image of the specimen.

If a famity opens a can of beans that has botulism,

A. What is the bacteria causing it?

B. How can this bacteria be used for treatment? (Theoretically)

C. How can they tell there is botulism physically before eating?

D. If they ate it, what symptoms would they experience?

A. Clostridium botulinum
B. Raising an antitoxin against the bacteria.
C. Strong odors for certain types of the toxin or if a can containing food bulges outwards (the bacteria can produce gas)
D. Pain in the gut, weakened muscles, partial paralysis, blurred vision, weak eye muscles, drooping eyelids, dizziness, fatigue, nausea

Explain the difference between batch and continuous culture.

Batch Culture- organisms are grown in a closed system, no nutrients are added or removed. Eventually organism reproduction rates slows due to lack of nutrients and excess waste.

Continuous Culture- organisms are grown in a open system where nutrients are added at a steady rate, causing the cells to grow exponentially continuously until they reach a steady rate.

Might be wrong, im a little unsure so
