Wasn't expecting to find it that easily, but apparently it's popular enough to be the top search result...

windu34, would you happen to know if these are potentially invasive at this quantity?

I have recently purchased 1,500 live male Coccinellidae from Amazon! I am eagerly awaiting their arrival; they are expected to get to my house around December 7th. Unfortunately, I cannot breed them because they are all male. I was thinking of trying to do an experiment of some sort with 400 or 500 of them. Anybody have ideas? I'm going to keep the other 1,000ish as pets for a little while.
I would just keep them as pets. More friends!
Just wondering though, when did you get this fabulous idea and how long did it take for you to convince your mom?

There is only one invasive Coccinellidae (Harmonia axyridis). it was used as a bio control option for pests such as aphids, but had several negative effects when spread. It impacts native Coccinellidae by out competing them. It also affects wine grapes and contaminates them making them not safe to eat. If SONerd keeps them under control and doesn't let them near other Coccinellidae or wine grapes SONerd should be fine.

TL;DR There's a chance I suppose. No wine grapes for them!

Wow, when I checked scioly.org this morning I had 6 quote notifications. I am impressed. Bad news, the laybugs might not come until Dec 17 because they have to be shipped specially.
Today, I cleaned out my old hermit crabs' tank and got it ready for the delivery. I also drew up a draft of the habitat on my whiteboard.

I would love to do that, but I'm not sure if I have the right materials.
