In the rules, it says that "pre-loaded energy devices are allowed as long as they don't provide energy to propel the vehicle."
Does that mean that we can use a battery for the breaking mechanism and trigger?

The rules also say that no electronics can be used

For those of you thinking of going over the can...

Wheeled Vehicle B Construction Parameters rule d, ii

"The dowel must also extend within 1.0 cm of the tracks's surface so that its front bottom edge will be the vehicle's Measurment Point for distance measurements."

the cup is 7 inches. You can do the math

Aha! I knew it!
I don't really understand why there is so much confusion about going over the can when you can just read the rules.
It kind of disturbs me... :|

BTW, I guess you can go over the can!
I looked at the rules, and I don't think I saw a rule against it.
(or I'm just a really bad reader :P )
Yes, you knew it all along

I just changed my mind. :D

Hello Everybody,
I was assigned Wheeled Vehicle with no previous knowledge of this event. If anyone can offer any advice, please post. If there are any picturs or blueprints you can hare to give me an idea of what to do, then please post those too. Thank you. :?:

I would suggest reading previous replies to this thread, reading the wiki page (http://scioly.org/wiki/index.php/Wheeled_Vehicle), or the image gallery of previous builds (http://gallery.scioly.org/thumbnails.php?album=10). Note some of the pictures have builds that do not turn, because of last year's rules.
