First contest today... New boom weighed in at 13.45g and held 11.16kg, had the strangest failure ever...
One of my compression members that was supporting the loading block twisted out of place and opened the boom up enough to let the loading block fall through. So no damage was done to the boom over all(visible damage) and I plan to add a member to prevent the twisting and retest soon.

Not really a strange failure. They show that happening on one of the "videos" on boomilevers. I will hazard a guess That your boom is about 4 cm wide, so it does not take much deflection to allow it to pass thru. Since it will be in tension, the cross member that you will add can be rather small and still hold.

if you are in division B the contact area of the base can be 20cm if you are in c it is 15cm

Oh, forgot...
Invite Saturday, weighed 13.55g, held 6kg before one tension member pulled out of the base... I know why though so I'm going to try again soon.

Ughh... Tested today, both booms fell as soon as I put on the bucket. In my defense, though, someone broke a joint or two and I had to reglue it right before it was tested.

No, it was between people of our team. It wasn't an actual competition.

What is considered a "good" score?

Depends on, among other things, where you are, the competition you're up against, and whether you think good is better than average, medaling, winning....
We know that last time booms ran, National winner was mid-sixes, so, a lower bound on "good."
Purely a guess- I'm thinking in most States (for a C-div boom), for Regionals, under 15gr (carrying full load)- 1,000 points - gets you into top 5; 12-ish gives you a good shot at winning (12-1300 points); by State, maybe a gram or two off those numbers.... It's going to vary a lot by State and Region
