they might, u never know
like for invitationals a lot on the test was basic 8th grade weather science. i didn't do very well b/c i didn't exactly pay attention in science calss (i was studying sci oly under my desk)
and for other events they added stuff that wasn't on the rule sheet.
to prepare urself for this kind of stuff just when ur studying stuff on the rule sheet, if there's stuff u dont know but it's not on the rule hseet, u should study it b/c u'll never know what will be on the test.
i also depends on the coach

I think that for the states/nationals (and for most regionals) it'll stick MAINLY to the rules. There should really be no 8th grade basic weather. That's for next year (when meteorology is everyday weather) It should be mainly on CLIMATE and even more heavy on CLIMATE CHANGE. My regionals and invitationals were very good events (fairly easy but stuck to the rules, and had a few harder questions) I think it mainly depends all on the writer.

Well going by the past rotation (everyday weather --> severe storms --> climate) I remember being around the room while my coach was coaching the people doing it and they were studying weather maps, fronts, etc.

great..
i personally only joined meteoroloy b/c of severe storms
climate change is just tedious and it is so hard to find stuff relating to climate change

idk, I think my favorite out of the three topics used would be everyday weather, but I like climate very much too
