Hmm... Weeeell, at states last year they pretty much did all labs... The only one that we really did okay on was one where there were two tubes of fluorecent gases and we had to identify what kind they were using a chart. I think I remember one that involved tuning forks but I can't remember what the questions were or anything.
My name is Eileen.
I'm a proud Aspie girl.
My events are Physical Science Lab (first at state), Ornithology (first at state), and Shock Value (third at state), this year.
We're going to NATIONALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And I am from Yankton, South Dakota.

The test I took at regionals last year was mostly objective. There's some math, identifying harmonic modes, refraction, math, identifying parts of a wave (amplitude, period, etc.), and math.
The states test was a station based test, like "Shine the flashlight through the comb onto the mirror. Identify and draw its ray of light, the mirror backing, and its reflection. How does the angle of incidence compare to the angle of reflection?" and "Shine the flashlight through the red and green paddles (translucent plastic things) and tell me what color it makes." I could answer half of the test without actually BEING at the station.

I don't know about practice tests, though questions like finding frequency, wavelength, or speed would be good practice. And always, bring a calculator!

no im pretty sure your only allowed up to a non-programmable calculator but to be sure i would check the rules ;) why do you need a graphing caculator i did this last year with a cheap little dollar store calc

yeah, what would you need as graphing calc for. The optimum choice would be a scientific calc. The ones that you use in 7th grade math, mine says TI-34-II on it. You really don't need a graphic calc.
