There was a conversation about the clue on chat last night, and it was decided that the clue probably refers to a song. However, nobody on chat at that time was able to find a song that met all of the requirements for the clue and targeted somebody, but only two songs were suggested in the first place. Does anybody have any other ideas about the clue?

Or, depending on the definition, someone with a pencil and a desk. Electric piano and strings don't have anything to do with drums anyway.

The clue appears to be describing a piece of music.

composing?
so someone trying to turn new age music (or our current genre) back to classical? (electric to strings) (high hat to sweet melodies)

(the pen and desk definition reminded me)

Well...Owl City uses electronic synth and keyboards a lot, but it often leads into strings/violins. It's not very common, what he does. Drums usually come in sooner or later, as far as I can tell. And on scioly, there are two users (that I can think of) who have Owl City references anywhere--fishman100 and myself. Both of us have parts of Owl City songs in our signatures. fishman's is Vanilla Twilight, and mine is Butterfly Wings.

I think fishman is more likely, because Vanilla Twilight starts off with piano, leading into strings, and then into a drum beat. I'm not sure what a high hat is, but I've heard the music called "sweet" multiple times.

The video for Vanilla Twilight is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pIz2K3ArrWk&ob=av3e, and Butterfly Wings is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvbYk1v_Azg.

I'm not protecting yet because I don't want to until I'm sure.

Well, there are five officers, so there are enough to protect both fishman and me, and three others besides in case we're wrong. You have convinced me, tuftedtitmouse12.
So, because of reasons stated in my last post and tuftedtitmouse12's post, I protect myself.
Someone else protect fishman. I'm scared for him.

I protect Fishman100, due to his signature.

In addition, I suggest someone protect AlphaTauri since the whole go back to simplicity idea that TuftedTitmouse wrote about seemed to play a major theme in her last game.
