Any suggestions on what type of clay to use for a confining layer?

Using only charcoal (and sand) should work fine, but you can also use cotton, coffee filter, etc. in your layers. Try to use as much charcoal as you can. It's the most important layer for remediation.

We make a filter to remedaite our water, with charcoal in it. Also make sure you let the charcoal sit in some water before you use it at competition so that it wont turn your water black. For some reason judges don't like it when you try to remedaite water and it comes out black;)

I found that taking test always helps with that part, and then presenting once a week or doing imaginary aquifer.

We use a filter too with layers of rock, sand, paper towels, and other stuff like that. Also we put alum into the water first because it clumps together the particles and sinks to the bottom so that when you pourn the water into the filter, you dont pour the very last bit with all the clumps. I hope that helps a little. Oh and you can get alum at a grocery store by the spice section.

Hey again! I'm back.

I was wondering whether or not, when we show remediation, do we have to show it inside of the container (model of aquifer).... or can we demonstrate this process outside of the model?
