I ordered the Sibley Guide to Trees online

looked at it yet? PM me about it, because ive been thinking about checking out field guides for Forestry
im planning to do R&M, Forestry, Optics, maybe compute this (though i highly doubt it) and maybe mousetrap,
studying for the first three, but the last two are maybe events, so im not studying....

About five - six business days until it actually comes, but when it does, sure The forums and amazon reviews mostly seem to recommend Sibley, if that helps.

Well, I'm just planning to amass tons of knowledge so I can outcompete the others on my team and look smart and expert-like next fall , but I'm not sure about the specifics, as I've never studied trees before. Though, I might just learn tree rings for fun. Mkay!

tree rings, erm, im thinking about digging up from the internet, the previous forestry list, since they will probably make few corrections to that...and learn some of the basics, i guess...and yeah, i just PMed you
and mkay! that actually looks summery hm, i feel like such a nerd, doing preparation for SO, but i want to get a head start
and i have nothing else to do
except my wonderful 3 week trip to china...yay!

and if u know any books that are related to rocks and minerals then can you please tell me about them

i was just going to ask that! i second _anatomy_ with requests for good field guides for Forestry and R&M

oh, and anatomy, check out the forums for preliminary forestry and preliminary rocks and minerals
that might help, and the forestry thread has been discussing field guides, so check that out

have you looked at the audobon yet? or just recommended off the preliminary forestry forum?

no i have looked at it
but its only a start, i have done forestry before but as a trial event at solon
mingtian's has competed in it as well
you can ask him about it as well, I am probably going to compete in forestry with him next year
but the audubon is a good start
