It's (reasonably) safe to say you won't see things like Artesian aquifer or wellhead protection area as demo topics at Regionals. Yeah, the list above is pretty typical (plus more, of course)

Today we had the typical confined and unconfined aquifers, precipitation, and water table, and then we were asked to demonstrate contamination but not purification of the water.

Heyz peepz! I kinda started late in this event, so I don't know much about it. I have been studying but can anybody give me some key terms? If they're in the rules then please tell me (Though I don't think they are.). Help is very much needed because of Regionals so close.

If you search hydrology terms on google a bunch of links will come up, and there's a glossary in the Awesome Aquifers Wiki.

I wouldn't use that. Pull the terms list from pages 10-11 from the Groundwater Foundation study guide and, if you have more time (sounds like you don't), go to the glossary on the Groundwater Foundation site. It has even more terms to learn.

Can someone just gimme a link? I'm doing other studying and other stuff at this moment so I don't want to waste much time.

How does a proctor determine the volume of the container you bring?

• They can take its dimensions and get an approximate volume. If it's around or exceedingly above 3.0L, then stuff might happen.
• Many containers say on them what their volume is. For example, you know the 3.07L container? Yeah, that one even made it to the rules clarifications. If it's a cut-up 2L bottle, then the supervisor knows it's definitely less than 2L and wouldn't bother measuring.
• I haven't seen this, but they could also fill it with xL water while you're at stations 1 and 2.

So it would probably be cutting it a little close if a container with the dimensions of 9"x5"x4" were used? (That's 180 cubic inches, or 2.94 liters)

Also, are you allowed to take items out of the container when explaining and place them on the table or something? And can the items protrude out of the box, or must it stay within the 3 liters?
