Didn't make finals at states, so they gave us 17th. That's equivalent to any of the places from forty-whatever to ninth, I believe, since those are not ranked at finals.

It's not really equivalent. It goes by number of wins, with ties broken by loss time. Not perfect, but not random either.

There is nobody else on my team building robots, so yes, the bot that goes to states for my team will be my own.

I'd like to see UE's bot. They also had very good looking devices for RR and EV last year, using clear laser-cut plastic like I was, if I recall correctly. Their RR bot lifted the box from the corner, which was cool, and had a box integrated into its design for counterweights (they filled it with BBs). Having compartments for weights is a very good idea for sumo, btw.

I forgot what their EV was like, but I'm sure it was cool. They're in the same blocks that I am this year (we're #34, they're #35), so I'll be sure to check out their devices. :D

Yes, that is my question.

Sheograth, what exactly did you hear about U.E.'s bot?

Basically nothing, I thought they were good in the past, I could be wrong though.

Did they do it at their regionals this year?

I seriously wish every region would post their scoresheets. Anyway, I found a local newspaper article with the top three finishers in each event, and apparently UE won Sumobots in that region. That's going to be a tough bracket.
