Re: Michigan 2010
Sadly, other than Clio, my school goes nowhere.
So... no.
To all of you complaining about this wrong and that wrong at an invitational, think of it this way:
99.99% of these schools could just not host these invitationals, and then your season would be like mine.
1 invitation, regionals, states...
Not much fun, is it?
So cmon, give the volunteers a break...
So... no.

Meh, Troy Athens.
Such a shame, if I lived like 2 miles west, I would go to Troy High and make nats, as well as go to a school better than mine at everything. (Other than marching band

Re: Michigan 2010
Ok haha half of our starting Academic Challenge/Quiz Bowl team is also in science olympiad so we wanted to give it a go but we couldn't find it so we shot hoops in the gym while we waited for scores to be calculated.Bogoradwee wrote:As for the individual events, Frankenmuth did not write any of them. And the Feud was in the auditorium while we waited for scores to be calculated.sisomg11 wrote:I was personally a bit disappointed in the Frankenmuth Tournament. The Forensics and Chem Lab tests had no lab portions, which seems a bit odd, the Astronomy had no picture questions and very few math problems, and other problems seemed to occur to my teammates as well. There was an addition mistake in the scoring for Experimental Design, nationals only material on the Anatomy test, and a few other complaints I can't remember. The school was nice, and the organizers seemed to be trying to make everything work, but I wish that the tests would have stuck a little closer to the official rules of what they are supposed to cover. Also, what was the Science Olympiad Feud (and where): we were looking for it but couldn't find it?
2007(B):Solar System, Tower Building
2008(C):Food Chemistry, Rocks and Minerals, Fermi Questions, Disease Detectives (as a backup in case of conflicts)
2009:Environmental Chemistry, Forensics, Astronomy, TPS (as backup)
2010:Chem Lab, Environmental Chemistry, Forensics, Astronomy, Picture This

Re: Michigan 2010
So who for Div C will be going this year to Nationals, Grand Haven will probably win but this year I think the battle for second place will be very close between West Ottawa and Troy.

Favorite Events: Experimental Design, Scrambler, Mousetrap Vehicle

I think Grand Rapids Christian has a good chance at going to Nationals again too. I would put it between Troy and GR Christian, I don't think West Ottawa is quite up to the level to beat them.

Re: Michigan 2010
well who's ready for Regional's? they are coming up fast some I think are already done. If regional's were tomorrow I think I am 75% prepared which is a little behind were I was last year at this time but I think I will be prepared for well in time for Regional's. How does everyone else feel about your upcoming regional?

Re: Michigan 2010
Meh, I'm good. Around 30%, which is actually pretty good, since to me, 100% = perfect score on all test events regardless of test's content, easy gold medal with building 100% of time. So 30% basically to me means at least 1 gold, and medal in everything.packer-backer91 wrote:well who's ready for Regional's? they are coming up fast some I think are already done. My team is pretty much guaranteed a ticket into states...
Low ticket, but still...
