Hey, so I'm in Division B and new to fossils. I was wondering about how much people score on average... we usually get over more than 50% and we recently got about 60% on a Division C test... do you guys think that would be enough to get us through an invitational in December? Thanks in advance!
This applies to all tests from any event- it depends on the difficulty of the test itself. Simply being from division C does not make a test easy or hard.

I did fossils division B last year and I was able to get 1st with around 30% so if you can get over 50% than you have good chance to medal

Alright, thank you so much! And @Name I do agree that it depends on the test, it was my bad for not clarifying that. Sorry about that.

Depends greatly on the test, which can vary in difficulty quite a lot.

I agree with Unome. On some tests, 70% and above will give you a guarantee placement. If you're taking a test with over 300 questions *cough Solon*, a 30% would probably be sufficient.
My best advice would be to try to find a test with raw scores and compare your score with teams who placed

You don't need to if you don't want to! I can see it being more beneficial to not devote an entire page to each invertebrate genus for example. I think a whole page for the vertebrates is necessary though as there's a lot of information you'll want to have on hand during a test.
