Are you guys doing a page for each topic, or just continuous notesheets? If so, which method would be best?

I think it depends on what your style is. I like splitting it up by having 1 page per each topic on the rule sheet. I think that it helps me find stuff faster.

Excuse me, but why is there even a binder given for this event?
I've never done Dyplan before but I did 3 study last year and with the amount of things you have to learn about an entire binder feels like overkill. Like what?

That's because a binder is overkill.

To be fair, glaciers was a relatively small topic so a notesheet made sense for it. Oceanography is a very large topic, and the rules basically allow questions on a whole variety of topics, anything related to oceans - which then makes sense to make it a binder event. (Although personally, I would have still preferred a notesheet lol)

At least it just means I can write evilly long station tests and they won't have time to look through their binders, meaning they'll have to know their concepts well.

I'm not excited at all to see how in depth they go at comps :(

What kind of information should I put in my binder? Should I put as much as I can about oceanography or just the necessary information I need to know from the rules in the binder?

You have a binder, might as well use it. You never know what a test writer could put on a test. Good tests will force you to know the key concepts well enough that you won't need to use your binder for anything. However, that's not always the case, so random trivia in your binder is helpful as well.
