As you describe, the distance from the neck flange to the opening of your bottle (ie, the hole where the fizzy goodness comes out) is less than 1.6cm, so it will be fine.

It's probably worth pointing out that the people who make the rules have actually seen soda bottles before. So yes, there are measurements (because there's always someone that tries to do something weird) but they are written so that you can go to your supermarket and by a normal 1L plastic bottle of major-manufacturer soda, and have something that works.

naw i doubt that, they made the rules pretty nasty this year but is fine
it's not about the medals; go out there and have fun. make progress, learn a few things and have one heck of a time; that's all that matters.

Is the air flap deployment method legal?
Specifically will it be considered elastic flight assist and hence not allowed this time around?

I was in this event for NC, at states in 2018 winning time was around 30-ish seconds (I can't remember the specific time)

Events 2018: Battery Buggy (3rd at Nats), Rollercoaster (18th at Nats), Ping Pong (1st at states)
Events 2019: Codebusters, Ping Pong Parachute (2nd at Regionals OVERALL), Thermodynamics

Was there a max psi/what was the ceiling height?

Winning times for nj states were around 8 seconds for the past two years, max psi of 40...

i wouldnt do anything that might tier you unless you know for sure that its legal
try submitting the question to soinc

Theoretically, would it be legal if the nose cone was 20+ feet tall and still met the nose cone constraints?

I can't find any brand of carbonated beverage (according to 3a) bottles that come in 1 Liter sizes. Can y'all suggest some? I know the rules say 1Liter bottle or less but I want to experiment with a bigger size.
